LENS ARRAYS
Micro lens arrays can be arranged on the following base surfaces:
  •  Plane
  •  Sphere
Several "zones" can be put on the base surface. In each "zone" microstructure has own performances. Zones have a serial number from 1 up to n, where n - total number of zones on the base surface. Each following zone occupies a part of a surface, which is not occupied by previous. The part of a surface, which is not occupied by zones, will transform a radiation as a base surface. Each zone is characterized by:
  •  Position in a coordinate system of the base surface,
  •  Type of zone restriction,
  •  Packing type of micro surfaces and its sizes,
  •  Surface type of micro lenses

POSITION OF ZONE
Each zone has its own orthogonal coordinate system (ZCS). By default, this system is the same as coordinate system of the base surface (BCS). The position of ZCS of can be set in the following BCS:
  •  Orthogonal y, x
  •  Polar r, j

TYPES OF ZONE RESTRICTIONS
Zone restrictions are set in the ZCS (fig. 1).
  • Ring sector Rmax, Rmin, jmax, jmin.
  • Rectangle Ymax, Ymin, Xmax, Xmin

PACKING TYPES AND SIZES OF MICROLENSES
Types of packing: Period
  •  Orthogonal (rectangle) TY, TY
  •  Hexagonal T
  •  Linear in Y direction (vertical) T
  •  Linear in Z direction (horizontal) T
  •  Ring T
  •  Radial T (degree)
  •  Radial - ring T, T (degree)
The orientation of packing is uniquely determined in the BCS.

The packing, determined in the orthogonal CS, are transferred on the cylindrical surface without distortions. On the sphere base surface orthogonal and hexagonal packing are distorted (distortion is proportional cos g).

 The cylinder along OY
 R, e2
 The cylinder along OX
 R, e2
The torus (only small radius is set)
 R

 Elliptic diaphragm
By, Bx where By and Bx – half of high along axes OY and OX.

TYPES OF MICRO-SURFACES AND ITS PARAMETERS
"Lens Array" is plugin feature for VOB Pro. It is available only if "raster.dlc" file (registered to user) is present in VOB directory.

The editing of parameters is made from "Lens arrays" folder ("Edit as table" -> "Lens Arrays"). If any surface has micro lens array structure it marked by "M" character in "More" column of "Surface" folder. To edit lens array parameters user should select appropriate base surface in "Surface" table and then open "Lens Arrays" folder.

After setting parameters of current zone it can be:
  •  Added to the end of zone list - button "Add"
  •  Inserted into the list (using current number of a zone) - button "Insert"
  •  Replaced existing zone with the same index - button "Replace"
  •  "Delete" - delete zone with current index from zone list.
  •  "3D View " - open window with 3d representation of base surface with micro lens arrays.

"ENEGRY" FOLDER
Energy folder is intending for estimation of irradiance uniformity. It is important, for example, in the case of illumination system.
