VOB++
VOB++ is a virtual lab bench and a set a laboratory experiments where the lenses are not expensive and do not break and where it does not take smoke and mirrors to visualize optical system behavior.

VOB++ can calculate and display Spot Diagram, Aberrations , Power Spectral Density Function (PSF), MTF and other. If the optical elements are changed by either click and drag or table entry changes the Abberations, Spot Diagram and Ray Tracing recalculate and redisplay. PSF and MTF has to be restarted by user.

VOB ++ allows to do electro optical image processing with array detectors and scanning detectors. It adds the ability to process a standard test object or a bit mapped graphic file through the optical system and detector to display the result. System noise level and filtering is user controllable. Sample images of the planets and the stars as processed through VOB are Stars and Saturn. These sample images are shown as .bmp object, the image of the object as processed through the optics, the image as detected by a matrix detector, and the detected image with added noise. This is a complete model of the telescope camera system!!!

VOB ++ can simulate an electro optical system from target to detector. Here a 3 ray radial mira is the target, its size is settable. The detector is a matrix of elements, detector array properties are settable. Three different levels of added white noise are shown in this screen shot. Instructions for users are in the help system.
